Make Money with Affiliate Programs

Affiliate program is one of the easiest ways to start making money online FAST! Doing business transactions online requires you to have your own products as a seller but as an affiliate marketer the burden is off you. You don’t need to have a product to sell.

Affiliate marketing involves choosing a good/desired product to sell, advertising that product to a particular group of people, convincing them that the product works, selling the product and getting paid your commission online.

If you sold a product worth N5,000, your commission could be as much as 40% that sale which is about N2,000 per sale for that particular product. That’s how Affiliate marketing works. Cool yeah!

You can easily find a hot selling product or services of an established web merchant and start promoting them for a cut. The product could be physical or electronic like Videos, PDF files (information products), Computer soft wares and much more.

For physical products like Phones, clothes, shoes…… the commission can range within 5% -15% while for electronic goods, which pays more could pay up to 70%. The reason why the latter pays more is because the cost of production of electronic products is far cheaper than physical products.

Some people have made affiliate marketing their major business, some of them are even bigger than most of the brands they are promoting. These people are called super affiliates because they’ve built trust, credibility and reliability over time, so anyone launching his/her product that comes across them would see them as a resourceful platform to launch.

Requirements:
Most affiliate marketers have a website or at least a blog. Your website or blog is your own platform to advertise goods to your visitors.

To be a very successful affiliate marketer you need to build a list the money is in the list

The number of follower ship of your website or blog determines how many people you can refer and invariably how much you can earn.

You definitely can build a list from your social network profile, website or blog; build credibility with visitors, create quality content that visitors like, be resourceful, don’t rush, be fortuitous. Then gradually begin to introduce the products you’re promoting.

How you make Money:
Making money from affiliate program is very straight forward; each merchant (the company/individual you’re affiliated to) gives you an affiliate link which enables you to promote their product on your website or anywhere else then when people click through your website and eventually buy that product or service, you get your commission the percentage profit stated as at the time you chose to affiliate with the company when signing up.

Here are some big affiliate platforms:
·       Commission junction
·       Link share
·       Click bank a very popular affiliate website that millions of people use. Here you get to choose from so many products to advertise and sell.
·       Amazon
·       Spread
Some Nigerian also makes money from affiliate programs of sites like Jumia and Konga.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO ENGAGE MYSELF AFTER HIGH SCHOOL WHILE I WAIT FOR MY UNIVERSITY ADMISSION?

Congratulations! So you just finished secondary school but arrgh, staying at home has been so boring and the admission list seems to be taking forever to roll out.

Well, it’s smart not wanting to stay idle. But the big question is what’s going to engage you?

Many young school leavers opt in for jobs as clerks, sales persons, but most especially factory jobs and teaching jobs.
Although it can’t be proven true, I think 8 out of 10 primary schools have at least 1 SSCE holder as a teacher. But I think before to spend this precious time on anything, you need to consider some things.

Will I gain experience that will have long term benefits? It’s not all about money. You should hunger for knowledge and experience that will build up into the future. Have it in mind that whatever you do should be profitable to you in university or maybe after. Make long term bets.

Learning or acquiring a skill in computing, hair care, tailoring, mechanics, electronics, catering, bead making, painting, radio electronics, aluminium work and metal work, art work, Web & Graphics designing, etc. is not just going to engage you today. It can take you places and keep you places in your future.

Is it CV “append able”?
This question goes in hand with the previous. Do ask yourself, “Years after this Job, can I scribble it on my resume?”

There are a couple of medical doctors; pharmacologists wanna bees working at pharmacies, orthopaedic home just to gain a forehand experience on what they want to do. For example, attending conferences or doing things in your community that has to do with your career path can help.

Not all experiences should relate to your degree anyway. Sometimes you see an A working in K company. You could say it is so because of corruption BUT it is not always so. It is because the person has done or engaged in something relating to K once upon a time.

Is it legal and parent approved?
If you are reading this, there are high chances that you are a teenager and still under your parent’s care. There so many Jobs most teenagers engage themselves with. There are so many Jobs out there. Like Factory work, marketing (looking into it critically) among others may not be too safe and legal.

Mum and Dad may not like that but you have to respect that. There are so many jobs that the government and global child right laws may have ruled up against your kind of work. E.g. factory related jobs where conditions are terrible for even adults.

You may also……….
·       Work in a cyber café.
·       Render typing services to schools around for their newsletter and exams.
·       Work in a bakery.
·       Do laundry for households in distant or nearby neighbourhoods.
·       Put in your skill/service into a creative business or start one.
