Have you heard of the Hult Prize Awards? The Hult Prize Award is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurs, which brings together the brightest college and university students from around the globe to solve the world’s global challenges.

The annual initiative is the world’s largest student competition and crowd-sourcing platform for social growth and has been funded by the Hult family since its inception in 2009.

The aim of Hult Prize is to breed the next generation of social entrepreneurs and launch a start-up social enterprise that can radically change the world.

Called the ”Nobel prize” for students, Hult prize in partnership with former president Bill Clinton is hosted and supported by Hult international business school and generously funded by Swedish entrepreneur, Bertil Hult and his family.

This year, for the first time ever, LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY would be holding a local edition of the Hult Prize Competition coming up on the first week of December 2016.

 It is with great delight that LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY is the only state in the Sub-Saharan region in Africa that was selected to host this competition locally which will produce the winner to represent the University and Africa as a whole in the regional competition in Boston by March 2017.

Applying for the Hult Prize Awards

The President’s challenge is given every year by Former President Bill Clinton to students that pertain to global challenges and socio-economic vices of the world. Then, students can propose solutions in making profits in that regional situation and also help in curbing the problems since that is primary function of being a social entrepreneur.

An idea is generated by the students in which they would have the opportunity to pitch their idea, have access to mentorship programs and sponsorship opportunities in which the ‘global’ winner gets $1MILLION!!! The steps are simple:

·       Develop a creative Idea solution pertaining to the President’s Challenge

·       Create a team of 2-4 members (optionally plus one alumnus member of the school)

·       Register your team on the Hult Prize Web-page of LASU, www.hultprizeat.com/lsu

·       Pitch your idea to the Judges.
