Does the name Linda Ikeji ring a bell? It should, if you are really an informed Nigerian. This fantastic lady started blogging in full in 2007 and today she is the richest blogger in Nigeria, she reportedly makes about 120 million Naira annually, meaning she makes about N12 million every month. 

She was one of the first set of people that started blogging in Nigeria.

In September 2014, she bought herself a Range Rover sport, 2014 model which cost her N24 million. Wow! That’s crazy, from just blogging gossips? I know you’re excited already, and the next question on your mind is how d I start blogging?

Blogging:

Blogging is more or less an online dairy; there is really nothing to it in terms of technicalities. Most of the things you do, blogging is to write a high quality content, post/publish, share and respond to your visitor’s comments.

Requirements: You don’t need any special skill, and neither do you need to spend much money to get started. You don’t even need to spend a dime; all you need is your Laptop and Internet connection.

Start a blogging requires nothing. Having a Google account entitles you too many Google options, one of which is BLOGGER, so you can create a new Blog, name the Blog and begin to edit. Starting a new blog for free at Google would be at blog spot.com while starting free blog at word press would be at word press.com.

Like information Marketing, to start a blog, you must choose a niche you’re passionate about, because what makes it successful is your commitment to it daily or weekly, therefore you need to decide whether it’s going to be a News blog, gossip blog, entertainment blog, celebrity blog, sports blog, motivation or a self-help blog. You can blog on just about anything, but you need to make sure it’s something you’ll like to talk about always so you don’t run out of steam.

 

How you make money from Blogging:

        Bloggers basically make money from advertisement, when you build your blog and become known to some extent you monetize it by selling ad slots on your WebPages, sign up for Google ad sense, you could also sell direct ads slot to individuals and big corporations, you could sell PR services or endorsements to organizations, you can also sell your own personal products to your clients or followers. 

Making money blogging is not as easy as you think. You need patience. While blogging you shouldn’t think about making money, what should be your motivation is your visitor appreciating your work.

Google ad sense every blogger’s dream is not easy to come by. When you sign up for ad sense, you wait to be approved by Google. Before you get approved by Google you must have met their requirements and followed their policy.

When you get your ad sense account approved by Google you would be allowed to display ad sense on your site. In this way you earn by pay per click.  You earn a certain amount for every visitor that clicks your ad; the amount you earn on each ad varies because different companies pay different amount of money to advertise their products and services.
